TEJ ART OUTREACH
TEJ, is a community art outreach program that I spearhead alongside my art practice. It proposes to bring art to a wider, less exposed audience, through the participation of NGO’s involved with women and children. Commenting on current social issues faced by the participating groups, expressed through a visual language, the project aspires to touch the lives of many. The program is carried through a series of art workshops and interactive sessions with participating NGO’s that I personally conduct, culminating in the creation of a large artwork. The intent is for the works to be auctioned or sold, and its proceeds donated directly to the NGO. Through these sessions, the participants not only get to explore expression through a visual medium, but take advantage of the opportunity to tap into their creative being. The project aims to give women and children an avenue to express their social challenges and hopes. Eventually TEJ art outreach aspires to take form in many more cities across the country, spreading the light of creative expression.
PROJECT OUTCOME
– To bring art to a wider section of society.
– To bring to light current issues experienced by minority social groups, by giving a voice through visual dialog.
– To create a large artwork through painting or mixed media, that upon completion would be sold/auctioned.
– For proceeds of funds from sale of art works to be directly donated to the participating NGO.

HOW THE FUNDS ARE USED
TEJ art outreach hopes to touch the lives of social groups/ NGO’s working with women & children across India. I personally carry out the workshops and realise artworks with the participating groups. Through your generous donation, each of the participating NGO’s will have the opportunity to create some beautiful works of art. The funds will cover the cost of art supplies, framing and transportation of artworks, travel, board and lodging costs.
